Looking at Sophie's overall performance I graded her in the upper second band between B1-B3. This is because I felt that she has a very creative personality and once she commits to doing something like in this case it was the timed assessment she really does put her foot down in giving a 100%. She behaved in a very professional manner and her communication skills with me were also brilliant as we got three practices each before the timed assessment. As we went along she also has the ability to solve any practical issues that come up relating to the design.
I specifically gave Sophie this grade as I feel she did really well on the assessment and I was pleased with the outcome. I also was really happy about the way she communicated with me throughout relating to the assessment and the fact that she was happy practicing the design outside uni hours.
The overall assessment was very neat compared to the practice sessions that we had. However, I feel like she could have been a little more neater if she used hair gel to settle down loose short hairs and the baby hair along my hair line. I was pleased with the roundness of the shape on the head and I also liked the way she tucked the strands of hair under each other to hide the grips. I had some pins with pearls at the ends and Sophie used these to hide some grips at the back of the head. I liked the fact that she did this, however looking at the picture the pearls at the back of the head looked just placed anywhere, I would have preferred if she kind of made a pattern just so that it looked more like they were meant to be placed there and they were not just used to hide the pins.
As we had not practiced with the feathers before I liked how she used her initiative to place them so neatly at the back as I wanted both on one side of the head. I also liked the look of them from the front as the placement was just right, they were not too far or close to the hair.
In conclusion I was really pleased with the complete look as it was quite modern yet had the feathers and pearls gave it the Elizabethan touch and Sophie did a great job.
