Practical- Practicing Sophie's Design
- This is Sophie's final design that I would be creating on her.
- Sophie wants her hair to to tied up in a sleek ponytail in top of a doughnut bun that sits right underneath the ponytail.
- She wants to have the effect of an elongated ponytail.
- She then wants the pony tails to be braided into two plaits.
- These to braids will form a loop at the back of her head almost forming an upside down heart shape.
- The braids will then go across her fore head and pinned up on the sides of her head.
- This was my 1st trial creating Sophie's design.
- Firstly, I brushed through her hair to make sure it is tangle free.
- Since we did not have a hair doughnut with us, I used a hair rat from the studio.
- I placed this onto Sophie's head in pinned it in place.
- Then I took her hair into a pony tail making sure the front looks neat and tied her hair using a hair bobble.
- I then made two braids from the hair that was tied into the ponytail.
- We noticed that Sophie's hair was not long enough for the braids to go across the forehead to the other side.
- We then decided to leave some hair out of the pony tail which was just above the ears, so we could incorporate these strands of hair into the braid and make it longer.
- After doing this step I tied the braids using hair bubbles so that they do not unravel.

- I noticed that the loops of the braids were not even and symmetrical at all and this is something I should work on towards the final assessment.
- This means that I need to make sure the hair which is to be incorporated above the ears needs to be done on the same part of the braid on each side.
- I also need to make sure that before I pin the braids in place on the sides of the head, I need to make sure that I check both sides to make sure they are both equal.
- Also Sophie wanted the ponytail to sit on top of the bun, however the hair rat I put in was at the bottom of the pony tail.
- I wasn't really pleased with myself as I felt like I did not do a great job. I have to work on many things and need to practice more to make sure Sophie is satisfied with me creating her design.
