Practical- Bridal Hair

  • Firstly I started by curling my partners hair. This would give the hair some volume and will set the hair and prevent it from being very flat.
  • Looking at the curls I noticed that some of the hair strands were not curled properly and some not at all. For the future I need to section the hair properly so that I do not have this problem.
  • With some of the curls I noticed that there was a kink at the end of the curl and that the curl was not smooth.
  • I figured out that I was rolling the hair to the opposite direction that was causing the kink.
  • I will keep this in mind for the next time I curl hair.
  • Having learnt my lessons, I moved on to the next step which was braiding.
  • I formed a middle parting at the front of hair and sectioned four parts.
  • This way I got a whole clean section at the back which will form the up do.
  • I created two french braids on both sides of the head.
  • I was happy with how the braids came out, however I feel that they could have been neater specially the one on the right side of the picture.
  • I tied the ends of the braids do that they do not unravel.
  • Keeping the braids aside, next I started working on the curls at the back of the head.
  • With the curls at the back of the head I rolled them into barrel curl like structures and pinned them in place.
  • I think that they could have been neater.
  • With the ends of the braids, I took them over the curls and pined them so that it would look like one whole hairstyle.
  • Looking at the complete hairstyle it looked more like a brides maid hairstyle.
  • I was quite pleased with the outcome as hair is not one of my strong points nevertheless I think it could have been much neater.
