The images above are from the Chanel Couture Spring/Summer 2010 collection. What really inspired me about the hair in these pictures is the, 'Heart Shape'. The shape of the hairstyles is the biggest historical reference to Elizabethan hairstyles as this was popular then. To create this style padding can be used. The hair on the left hand side also looks crimped. Crimping can achieve lots of volume in this particular style along with backcombing as seen from the volume in the hair. The volume can also be created by the size of padding or hair rat being used. The full fringe with the bow tie as a hair accessory is the feature that really modernizes the hairstyle.
